Many rooms, but where do we live...

Many rooms, but where do we live...

Where do we actually live, an interesting question that may cross the mind from time to time...

A friend of "material means" once told me, that within his rather large house, were rooms that only the housekeeper went into. Needless to say, this was a thought that generated a rather interesting esoteric conversation...

The brain can be considered like a house with many rooms all corresponding to the different actions of the human centres. What is a more interesting aspect of this analogy, like my friend in his material house, we all use a "proven" small percentage of this "grey manor" organic house...

Given this wonderful organ from birth, which is immortal in the cellular world, it is amazing that we only live in a very small part of it. Now the question is, was this intended by "Mother Nature" to be this way, and if so, why the over sized under used capacity?

Personally, I think that it was actually planned for, that we somehow must on our own, discover new rooms in this wondrous cerebral mansion. The problem is, we do not possess the keys. The keys somehow have to be earned, they are not given freely nor automatically, it is not a birthright.
Like everything else in life, we have to work hard for greater stature, awareness and better abilities.

Doubled with this difficult quest, is the illusion that we already possess these capacities. We fool ourselves into believing that we are indeed fully conscious and in total control. Then comes that fateful Saturday night, where after having over indulged, the need to breed suddenly appears. Sadly, we find we have given over control to the imbibed substance, where the apparatus and equipment are no longer functioning within normal parameters...
On the other hand, and more likely the better witness, think of how many times we blame hormones or moods for ugly negative emotional outbursts, that place us at odds with those we claim to love.

Loss of control is a symptom that really can, if heeded, bring one to the understanding that we are more like machines, rather than conscious beings. Habit begets habit, we move through life mechanically, turning from one desire to another until a pattern is formed, then we simply follow the pattern. We do not see this pattern, because of where we live in our low level of consciousness. We are caught by life reacting in the same way all of the time. Others may see our attitudes, addictions and dependencies, but they can not see their own.

So we live in a formatory mind of sorts, located in the basement of our mind house. Reflexive in nature, it is closer to the reptilian brain and only furnished with instinctive learned responses.

On the upper floors of this incredible mind house, are beautifully furnished rooms that await our "presence of mind". Valuation in the form of a greater desire, is the key to climbing up these stairs and opening the doors.

We must become aware of our situation, by observing this mechanical state we live in, then we can begin the climb upstairs. Nothing from the outside will help in the quest for greater consciousness, there is no magic amulet or secret potion.

The only way back up the down staircase, is greater self awareness and a strong desire to change. We are lucky in a way, we carry the object of our study with us all the time. If we equate this study with work, then we can work more often, if of course, we remember the need to do so.

It is indeed a painful climb, with many distractions along the way. There are no special skills required, only a "heart felt" desire to change who and what one manifests. One must also believe in better states of being, coupled with something far greater than oneself.

If their were nothing greater to change into, there would be really no point to life nor evolution....

The esoteric psychological message, behind the parable of the "Prodigal Son", is this journey home...
